Any State Party may, at the time of signature, ratification or accession to this Protocol, declare that it does not recognize the competence of the Committee provided for in articles 6 and 7. The Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a subsidiary agreement to the Convention that allows parties to recognize the competence of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to consider individual complaints.
