The industrial partner has a non-exclusive right to commercial exploitation of the results within its scope. A royalty-based option for exclusivity within the well-defined scope can be negotiated at the beginning of the project. Scientific partners are free to exploit their results outside the scope. The parties may agree that the application and management of the intellectual property is carried out by the industrial partner. The same agreements apply in principle to interconnection projects without public support. Derogations may be settled if the industrial partner assumes a significant share or full financing of the activities, use of infrastructure and material resources of the PSI. The use of the existing intellectual property (context) of the PSI is guaranteed to the industrial partner to the extent necessary for the exploitation of the results.
